Watsonville was incorporated in 1868.
The first water works was built in 1878 by the Watsonville Water Company, which was later sold to the Corralitos Water Company.
The Watsonville Water & Light Company was incorporated in 1896
The city of Watsonville bought the water system from the company in 1922 for $200,000.
Water is provided by the City of Watsonville.
