State Center, Iowa

State Center was incorporated as a city in 1867.

The city built a water system in 1877.  

Water is provided by the city of State Center.

Page 185:  State Center.  Being on high ground, one of the first needs was water.  in 1877 the town made a contract for a deep well and tank and necessary fixtures, all of which provided a success.  Nothing so favors a town as plenty of good water.
