Littleton was incorporated as a town in 1784.
Water works were built in 1879 by the Aphthorp Reservoir Company, which was renamed the Littleton Water and Electric Light Company in 1887.
The town purchased the water and light company in 1903.
Water is provided by the Town of Littleton.
