Medford Township in Burlington County was settled in the 1670s.
The Medford Water Company was organized by Edward Thomas, Benjamin Shreve, and George Haines. They petitioned for incorporation, which was granted in 1830. No evidence has been found that this company built a system.
Another Medford Water Company was incorporated on March 26, 1895 and built a system that began service in August 23, 1895.
The township of Medford bought the water company in 1982 for about $1.5 million.
Water is currently supplied the Township of Medford.
