Newton, Massachusetts

Newton was incorporated as a town in 1688 and as a city in 1873.

The town built a water system in 1876 that used pumped water into an elevated reservoir with a steam engine.

Water is provided by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority and distributed by the City of Newton
